Missions at First: Loving the Nations

Missions at First

At its heart, missions is about God's people connecting with people for other places and cultures with the goal of sharing the gospel with them. God has given us the mission to make disciples of all nations. At First Baptist Church, we seek to obey God through giving, sending, praying, and going. We hope that you will explore ways you can give, support and pray for those sent as missionaries and also discover ways you can go.

Maguire State Missions Offering

The state of Florida is growing and changing rapidly. We are one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse states in the United States. And many people, no matter if they are the rare Native Floridian or a recent arrival, still do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The Florida Baptist Convention is committed to starting new churches to reach everyone in our growing state. Through the Week of Prayer for State Missions and the Maguire State Mission Offering our church can support this work. Our church goal is $4,500.25. Please pray and give as God leads.

Turks of Istanbul, Turkey

(is-tan-BULL) – During the past few months, three young adults have been having spiritual conversations with several different Christians. They have been exploring topics like grace, heaven, forgiveness, and the Nicene Creed. These three are usually into the secular and nonreligious scene, emphasizing the belief that all religions are quite similar and that being a good person is essential. One of the young women mentioned that she has been reading the New Testament, and another young woman recently received her first Bible from a Christian friend. Please pray that these three young adults will accept the truth in John 14:6 (ESV): “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” Pray that they will openly engage in reading the Bible with their Christian friends, continue to ask good questions, and visit a local church soon.
